They got their start at local farmers' markets in 2005 by De Stewart (appointed a Kentucky Colonel in 1999) and opened their first physical storefront in 2006 at Cincinnati's historic Findlay Market. After De Stewart passed away in 2018, the business continued as a family operation led by his son, Ashley Stewart, along with Mrs. Colonel and Christi.
